Physical hunger and food cravings, how to identify them? Actually there is a stark difference between them.
Physical hunger
- Usually occurs a few hours after you finish your last meal
- Your stomach is rumbling, you have the feeling of weakness or even headache
- Any kind of food will make you satisfied
Food craving
- Occurs randomly. Sometimes it may occur when you just have a meal
- A desire for specific or comfort foods, such as chocolates, chips, or sweets
- Usually brings you a sense of guilt after eating
- Stays even you have eaten much
- Increase during a woman’s pregnancy and menstrual cycle
- May be stronger when you’re dieting
If you notice that you’re experiencing food craving rather than real hunger, don’t eat any food to satisfy it. Keep yourself busy or drink some water to let yourself pass it.
